Honourable Roland 'Patel' Matthews

Roland ‘Patel’ Matthews is Dr Godwin Friday’s NDP representative for North Leeward. A true son of North Leeward, he is a passionate warrior for his people.
Since his election, he has been holding Government to account for its lack of action on creating job opportunities for young Vincentians and local infrastructure – such as the English and German gutters.
Patel is committed to seeing a Dr Friday-led NDP team form Government after the upcoming election so we can get SVG working!
Prior to his political career, Patel taught at secondary school level, which brought to his attention the lack of career prospects for young people in SVG.
As a teacher he helped guide and nurture his students to make their transition from education to career a much smoother one.
He holds a Bachelors of Arts in History Major & Government Minor from the University of the West Indies.
His interests outside of politics include sports especially Basketball, Music, Community Development, Youth Organizations.
